ACROSS Fridays is back at the BCM (corner of Washington St. and Kent St.) this week, September 23rd, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Join us for snacks, hot beverages, and a “photo scavenger hunt.”

In a Photo Scavenger Hunt (also called Digital Scavenger Hunt), each team is given a list of items to find and photograph. The teams go out and find the items (or create the items) and take photographs of them. The teams must return to the BCM at a particular time. Then we will see which team got the most items, and which teams took the most creative or funny photos of individual items. It’s lots of fun! Arrive on time so you don’t miss departure!

Bring your digital camera if you have one!

Furniture Giveaway followed by free dinner

New students, need furniture? Please join us on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the BCM building on the corner of Washington and Kent Street.

Thanks to our community, you can pick one large piece and one small piece of furniture for free. On top of that we will also deliver them to your house/apartment. We will open the door at 7:30 am. Everyone in line at 7:30 am will receive a number, which randomly picked to determine the order. There is no need to come before 7:30 am. But if you come after 7:30, your chance of getting something nice is rather slim.Hope to see you there bright and early

Our dear friends from Northstar church in Bristol, VA are putting together a free dinner that evening to welcome you to Blacksburg. Please come back to the BCM building at 5 pm to join us for dinner. There will be a variety of American food including vegetarian dishes. There will also be little household items that will be given out at the dinner in the parking lot. Please come at 5 pm and take a look at our selection.
